Robert Gerald Helms, 90, of Emerald Isle, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Carteret Health Care. i was so lucky to have had you in my life. Mrs. Dear husband of the late Carla L. Helms; beloved father of Debra (Lari) Barrale, Robert W. Helms and Vicky (Joseph) Gogel; loving grandfather of Angelia, Ashley, Andrew, Robert Jr., Anthony, Adam, Jonah, Edward and the late Eric; loving great grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend. We are sad to announce that on January 17, 2021, at the age of 80, Robert Helms of Bowling Green, Kentucky passed away. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Millie Carter, Be Ethel Johnson, Alene Helms Myers, and Orwilda Helms Hill; and brothers, Edward Lee Helms and Carl F. Helms and a grandson he raised as a son, Jamaal Golden. With great pride for his country, he honorably served in the United States Navy. His family was musical.
